Hi! Summer is great!!! The girls' last day of school was June 6...then last week we were up at the lake for a week! As much as the girls love being there, I will say that they did have a rough patch for a few days adjusting to no school and so much free time! They were just having one of those at each other, whining, fighting, crabby kind of days which I guess we are all allowed every now and then but I'm so glad they come and go! It's just funny how you picture that when you go to the lake, it will be peaceful and relaxing and super fun with fabulous family memories ALL the time ;) Ha! :) I have to work on changing my expectations. :)
Anyway - on Sunday night, Elizabeth, Anne and Laren drove up since Elizabeth was in town from Canada. It was sooo great hanging out with them again! They drove up with their trailer so that we could get our paddleboat up there! So fun to be able to get out in the middle of the lake!
Hailey, Addy, and Em waiting for us to get on
Elizabeth and I - I really miss her!!Then on Tuesday, my friends Katie (with Beckett) and Andrea (with Isabelle and Josie) came up for a couple nights since their husbands were traveling too! It was sooo fun having them there and the girls loved having friends up there too! Probably the craziest thing that happened was on night at like 3 a.m. the smoke alarms went off only 3 times in our room and in Andrea's room below. It was SOOO LOUD! And there was no smoke or anything! It wasn't chirping like it needed a new battery. It would just ALARM and then stop! So weird! So that happened like 3 times in the middle of the night though in Andrea's room. Then the next night, it went off at like 10 so we were glad we weren't sleeping yet. Ryan disconnected it from the ceiling and took out the batteries and while Andrea was holding it, a SPIDER crawled out of the crazy smoke alarm! So our theory is that the little spider was setting off the alarm. Are we nuts or can this really happen? We had some good laughs over it and surprisingly, NO children ever woke up! Amazing!

Girls loved jumping on the neighbors Pier
Hailey and Em literally chasing butterflies...they call the sand over there "Butterfly World."
Addy got tired. :)
Then Friday Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Kim and Papa Hank came up! Here's Grandma and Addy in the Kayak!

Photo Op before going on our neighbor's Pontoon boat. The girls went tubing but I didn't have my camera with me!!!! They loved it though! Just went slow....but they loved it!
Another great sunset - no editing at all! Amazing colors!
Papa Hank and his little buddy Em. She couldn't get enough of him. :) Papa Hank was teaching the girls all about when he was a little boy and how he would get a "lickin" if he was naughty. They were ALL ears listening to him. They hadn't heard of a "lickin" before. :) So a little while later I gave Hailey a timeout and Addy and Em thought I should just give her a lickin! :)
Then on Saturday, Kathy and I got to go to the Miss Wisconsin Pageant in Oshkosh! I have never been to anything like that before! Papa Hank's wife Pauline...has a granddaughter named Paula who won Miss Racine and was competing to win Miss Wisconsin who would them compete for Miss America! We heard the competition all week was pretty rough so we thought Paula might not make it in the top 10....but she did!! She was the first name called so we were SO PUMPED and screaming! Here we are all ready to go....
Here's Miss America! Miss Wiconsin won Miss America last year so she came and sang and stuff. :)
Here's Paula going first in the swimsuit portion! She did great!
Her talent was playing the Clarinet and she did great here too!
Beautiful evening gown!!!
Paula didn't make it in the top 5 but she seriously did great and looked so comfortable and like she was having a blast up there. I COULD NOT HAVE DONE WHAT SHE DID. The next day the girls asked me who won Miss Wisconsin, me or Grandma. :) :) :) It was really sweet because Paula won the Miss Congeniality award which says a lot about who she is. GREAT JOB PAULA!! Here's Paula and her proud papa :)
Miss LaCrosse won Miss Wisconsin!
