Say CHEESE!

Oh my goodness. I don't think we're ever going to be able to get a picture with all 3 girls smiling at the same time. :) The picture above (H-A-E) pretty much sums up our day yesterday. :) We had someone come over to take pictures of the girls and OHHH man did they hate having their picture taken. For about 2 hours straight it was constant screaming! They did NOT like being stuffed in Christmas stockings or having naked baby pictures taken - but who would, right? :) It was pretty funny actually trying to get them to all look in one direction AND not cry at the same time. We would put the nuks in their mouths to calm them down and then at the count of 3, yank them out in hopes that we could get one shot with them not crying. Oh boy. :) I hope some of them turn out though! :)
Ryan went back to work today so my mother in law is helping out today and then tomorrow Uncle Kyle and Auntie Kara come so they're very excited for that. Ryan's so funny - he keeps trying to come up with different theories on how to get them to sleep through the night. First he thought we needed to wrap them tighter in their blankets and keep their hands away from their faces. Then he thought they needed the ocean waves music on for background noise...and then last night was the best. He was putting them to bed and I went upstairs to find their bouncy seats actually IN their cribs. But, crazy thing is - it worked! The girls slept AMAZING last night in their bouncy seats in their cribs. :) I don't want them to get in the habit of that but what do you do when it works?! :)
This weekend I hit my wall. I was officially TIRED. I think I had been going on adrenaline for the past 2 weeks and then all of the sudden I just HAD to take a nap - lots of naps. :) I feel better now since they slept so great last night but I know I'll just need to start taking naps more often.
Well, it's about that time for the feeding to begin again. Have a great day!

We haven't met yet, but I am 18wks pregnant with BBB identical triplets. I got the link to your blog from SEWMOT. Congrats! It's been great to hear about your experiences.

I just wanted to chime in and say that Ryan might be on to something. Our son (now 2.5 yrs old) didn't sleep well unless we essentially made a nest for him in his crib, it was just too big! Imagine having been in our overcrowded wombs or hospital cribs. Much smaller!

So I don't think it has to be a bouncy seat per se, but a cozy space helped us out a lot.

Keep writing, and keep napping :)

Aww, so cute! Yes, do what you can to get them to sleep! We did that with Boston for a few months. He was colicky so we did whatever made him happy :) He slept in his bouncy seat, in the bathroom with the exhaust fan on high! It was the only thing that would soothe him, other than the water running in the sink! LOL

I'm not sure what to do about the sleeping thing. I think it's just luck! :) I had an infant "student" who would only sleep in his carseat. Well, as teachers, we didn't think that was right, so we mummified him (or wrapped him like a burrito)and he slept just fine in a crib then. I think my girls just have a lot of "daddy" in them, and they just wanted to sleep all night. Then again, it was only one of them at a time, not three of them ganging up on me. :) Actually, now that I think of it, Elise slept on one of those memory foam things that had sides that velcroed onto it. I guess that was snuggly to her. I know I got mine at Target.

The picture thing...not sure that's going to get any easier. :) When Claire turned 18 months, I took her to Sears. Our appointment was between 4 and 4:30. I didn't get out of there until 6:30. Grandma Mary couldn't believe it. I was giving up, but the photographer just kept on trying. Finally, she put necklaces in a hat box. Claire checked them out, then turned around and said "pretty." That was the only picture that turned out fairly good. Her hair had a little static, but I was like "whatever." For her 2-year, I took a picture of her sitting on the floor in Elise's bedroom. It wasn't the prettiest background, but it was the cutest smile anyone would have been able to get out of "The Bear." (Claire's nickname) I was telling that story to someone recently, and they told me there's a new place in one of the malls that follows the kids around the room and takes pictures. The kids don't have to pose or sit in one spot. I thought that was a great idea....something to remember for the three amigos!

Call if you need some help! Seriously....

Can I just say you guys are amazing!!! Every time I look at the pictures I'm just blown away! I don't have much advice to give you beings one baby at a time was challenging enough for us. ; ) We love the updates...the excitement you share and the honesty about the recent tiredness. We'll keep on praying for you guys! love from Nigeria, Megan

p.s. our friend's baby slept in her carseat in her crib for the first two months of life...whatever safe contraption works for the sake of sanity is so worth it!

This picture is a real "laugh out loud" one! I can see that Addison has already figured out how to handle the paparazzi! Just put your hand in front of the camera lense! (She will get the dexterity down pat later on - after all those motor skills take awhile to develop!!)

Love,
GG Aunt Mary
