Morning update :)

Good morning everyone! I'm sitting here in the hospital room and I just keep shaking my head like "did this all REALLY just happen? Did i really just give birth to the 3 most beautiful babies I've ever seen?" I wish I could describe the feeling to everyone....I just want to thank you all for your prayers because first of all, we can ALL feel them. The girls are doing better than most at 31 weeks it seems so that is a definite result of your prayers. So THANK YOU! But, it is still going to be a long haul and we'll be in need of continuous prayers. In order for the girls to go home with us, they need to be able to breathe on their own, take a bottle or breast, gain weight, etc. So there's a lot ahead of them yet! Yesterday they were getting nutritian from an IV and they might start trying some food today. Many times, their little stomachs aren't ready for food but the docs say they need to try!
And - just so you know, they are all on the C-PAP for breathing. If they were on a ventilator, (like Addison was at first), then the ventilator would be breathing for them. The cpap however just give the girls' lungs pressure to keep their lungs open like a balloon so that it makes it easier for them to breathe. So, they breathe on their own, but they are getting help to keep their lungs open. Emily is now the one who needs the most assistance cuz she forgets to breathe sometimes. She's also the smallest one! So, please keep praying that they will figure out this whole breathing thing. :)
They are so beautiful though. And Ryan and I just stand there in awe over them. I love touching their tiny toes and feet and feeling their feet press against my hands. It's what it felt like when they were in the womb!!!!
I slept great last night. My parents arrived from Denver and they are super proud grandparents now too. :) I'm feeling pretty good - just a little sore and hungry at the moment! :) I'm excited to attempt taking a shower today. :)
We'll keep you updated on here as much as possible. I'll probably be here til Sunday sometime...and then we'll come back every day to see our girls and do whatever we can. It's going to be so hard to leave them here...but I know they're getting what they need to get big and strong. :)
Oh and if you're wondering about the names - we just liked all of their first names. :) Addison's middle name is the same as Ryan's (Lee). Emily's is after mine (Ann) and then Hailey's middle name (Grace) reminds us of our God and His amazing amazing GRACE in blessing us with these 3 beautiful babies. God is so good. They truly are His masterpieces!
Love you all!
Shelly :)

Shelly,
You and Ryan are amazing. So are your little ones. They look great in the pictures. We will keep all of you in your prayers. And if you need anything that I can stop for on the way home from work let me know.

Shelly,
I am so glad everything went so well. The girls look beautiful. I will continue to keep all of you in our prayers. If you need anything, please let me know. I would be more than willing to give you a hand. Leaving them at the hospital will be the hardest thing you will ever do, but they are in good hands. The road is long, but so worth it. Keep smiling.

Oh, Shelly and Ryan, I'm so happy for you guys. The girls look just beautiful. I sure would offer to help, but that won't be happening for quite a while. They think I should be walking again in about 2 more months, but Lynn said she would drive me to the hospital so I can see those three little pumpkins. Prayers will definitely continue for you guys.

Love all of you, Betty, WRL

Hey Shelley!! I know it has been a while but I have been following every blog since you started and have been praying for you, ryan, and the girls. God is good and SO powerfull! I have a girl I used to work with that had twins very early, and follwed her blog as well (its bejaminandkyle.blogspot.com if you want to check it out for encouragement:))Your girls look amazing though!! Its was funny I went back and was reading your blog about 29 weeks - something along the lines of maybe making it to 37 weeks...I think those little gals knew you were typing those words and heard your doc...cause they had a different plan in mind!!! Can you hear them chattin in your womb...'come on girls lets bust out of this place and see what mom and dad really look like!!!' Anyways we will continue to pray that they get stronger and bigger each day. And may your story be encouragement to more people...You guys are so strong and are wonderful parents.
