Thanksgiving

So today, we were on our way to church, and we were just explaining to the girls how today is Thanksgiving so we say "Happy Thanksgiving." So we said, "So what do you say to people today?" And they all say in unison "THANKS FOR GIVING!!" :) Close.

And yet what our 3 year old girls said today is probably more true than the typical phrase so many of us say to each other today. Thanks for GIVING Jesus. Thanks for GIVING your life so WE may live. Thanks for GIVING us your Holy Spirit to live in us to give us life, hope, love, and peace. Thanks for GIVING us your grace - every single thing we have or could ever want and more. Thanks for GIVING us joy.

Thanks for giving us warm beds to sleep in.... (EHA)

Thanks for giving us friends...and neighbors...

Thanks for things like football to entertain us....

Thanks for giving us things like sports to keep us in shape and great alma maters :) ...

Thanks for awesome Uncles.....Brothers...

3 year check up!

Hi there! It's been a while! Guess things have just been busy! :) I've been trying to work on organizing all of their pictures and ordering new ones and all of that during naps. I've decided that's a LOT of work! They each have a photo book where I have printed out my fave pics of them since they've been born....but keeping up with that is TOUGH! And i don't even make it cute like creative memories or any of that. I'm thinking in the future I may just print this blog for them!

Anyways, we had a great morning. I love taking the girls in for the Dr. check ups. I love our doctor...and she is just so encouraging. I feel so so so so blessed yet again.

Addy, Emily, and Hailey are doing remarkable for being triplets and for being preemies. She couldn't believe they know their letters and how to write some. She couldn't believe their vocabulary and language. She was amazed at their fine motor skills and how they hold a pen correctly. And she was pumped about their appetites and growth and the fact that they pedal a bike and are potty trained day and night. Sometimes I feel bad that they are doing so well since so many people have so many struggles with one kid...but then it just makes me think that maybe He's blessed me so I can be an encouragement and support to others. That is my prayer. Yes, I am soo so sooo proud of them and I am so grateful to our amazing God for all that He has done. I can't even explain to you what it feels like to see them and remember them being SO tiny and stuck in those isolettes in the NICU and then see them succeeding so well now. We truly are blessed and we praise Him for every bit of grace and strength He's given us along the way.

Here's their heights and weights :

Addy: 36.5 lbs. and 3 feet 4 1/2 inches tall

Emily: 32.5 lbs and 3 feet 1 3/4 inches tall

Hailey 31.75 lbs and 3 feet 2 inches tall

Now I would have said that I thought Emily was a little taller than Hailey...but it's only by a quarter inch....so I guess it just depends who has poofier hair that day. :)

E and H are in the 75% for height and 50-75 for weight. Addy is off the charts for height and in the 90th for weight. She is truly eating and measuring like a 4 year old instead of a 3 year old!

We did find out that Addy had a double ear infection so poor girl! Everyone's tubes have fallen out now except for one of Emily's so more ear infections might be on the way. I HOPE not!!! It's just so nice that now they can tell me if their ears hurt!

They all had to get 2 shots today. Oh boy. Emily was all about going first. She sat on my lap and faced me. 2 nurses each took a shot and at the same time, put one in each arm. Em just sat there and then looks at me and goes "Ouch." That was it! She is so brave! Then Addy volunteered to go next since that didn't look too bad and Emily got a sucker. :) So Addy sat on my lap and was so quiet. She got both shots and then I asked her if she wanted to say 'ouch' too. She shook her head with a sad face and just said "I want my sucker please." Aww....sweetie. Then it was Hailey. Well she's pretty smart... and she just saw four huge needles go into her sisters arms so she started wailing and bawling and kicking and screaming saying "I DON"T WANT A SHOTTTTT!!!" Oh boy. So I held her down and she got both of them w/ many many tears. I felt so bad but they really did so so good. It was key to bring suckers along. :) And then since I was just so proud of them, I took them to their favorite restaurant Culvers for lunch. :) They are my favorite girlies EVER!

And...anybody have any tips for loading little movies on here? I try to do it and it seriously take like an HOUR or more to do a 30 second clip. I do it through iMovie. What am I doing wrong? Anybody? :)
